"The woman at the well had her sins exposed and instead of judgement, her thirsting soul was offered living water."
Jesus offered her the gift of Living Water and in haste, she left her pot at the well and ran. She ran in a manner of urgency back to town eager to share the Good News. And just as the woman at the well, I too, in a state of haste and urgency, want to share the Good News.
Beyond my understanding, I have been forgiven.
I have been given a new life in Him.
Sin no longer has reign over me.
My Why
To bring hope.
My Prayer
"Lord, take these stories, use them as you will. May they bring hope to the hurting. May they shed light on the depth of Your Love and Forgiveness.
May Your name be Glorified through it all."
Ephesians 2:1-10
Made Alive in Christ
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
no one to compare my situation to.
When I was in the midst of one failed marriage after another, I had
Maybe someone with two failed marriages but three or four?... I would only hear of this in ridicule from some crazed Hollywood story.
All I could think of was the scripture that stated we were not to divorce and if we did, we were not to remarry... I remarried four times over, in my eyes... I was doomed.
Until God showed me that when I asked for forgiveness of my sins my "slate was wiped clean". He did not leave divorceé down at the bottom of the slate. He wiped my whole entire slate clean; a fresh, new start.
BUT!! That is not where the story stops, then came the gift of restoration. As I began giving up my will and started following God’s will, restoration began. I wasn’t getting in the way with bad choices constantly rerouting His plan; I was trying to stay out of God’s way, giving Him reign to restore my life…. and it worked!
The freedoms I lost in giving up my free will were replaced with an overwhelming joy and happiness. I wasn’t living in shame and strife. I wasn’t living in hopelessness anymore. I trusted God and His plan and what a plan He had! A plan I never thought possible; something so far beyond what I could ever imagine.
Today I am living a restored, blessed life. Each day, each decision I make I try to do what Jesus would do. I don’t always succeed; sometimes my sinful human nature gets in the way. But the more I listen to His quiet, still voice, the less my sinful nature is in the lead and the more His will leads.
It is simple:
"Heavenly Father, forgive my sins. I give you my life, reign in me."
Offer up whatever you have to serve Him. He will not fail you. You may fail you, but He will never fail you. In your deepest sorrows, in your challenging times of regret, remember there is a God who loves you, who has a plan for your life; you just need to say Yes. Trust Him. Follow Him.
And the icing on the cake?
Now my story can be the example that perhaps you find comparable to your story. You see, you are not alone; your situation is not hopeless.
God loves you ♥ Trust Him
